Sirens and Sidekicks

Even with the rich, vibrant color palate Tara McPherson employs, she still continues to characterize people and creatures of her own creation with darkness and intensity. Women with the same sense of danger and desire in their eyes as the sirens in fairytales are a common theme in her work.

Scott Slusher

When I imagine what Texas looks like (I’ve never been there), I pretty much imagine a Scott Slusher photograph. Warm tones, bright sunlight, rodeos, cowboys and skinny white girls. His work brings chic and rustic together in a very appealing way. He’s taken the cowboy image to a new level

Victoria Will

For the last few years, Victoria Will has photographed celebrities at the Sundance Film Festival. She is expert at capturing each unique personality in their own light. Her simple lighting and background allow the subject to speak for itself. I can’t imagine how much fun she has photographing these people through out

I want to live in a Kaye Blegvad universe

I like to think that there is an alternate universe, and I live there, and it is made by Kaye Blegvad. I wear jewelry, bracelets with hands and hearts, cat rings, and hey why not pierce my ears for the pointy leaf shaped studs. I am definitely drinking from cat

Melissa Manwill

If you want your pretty little socks blown off, you need to see Melissa Manwill’s work. As some of my favorite people to learn from and study, students embody so much of what it means to be an artist. Now I don’t mean the crippling debt, the abundance of ramen

Nick Fancher

I hate complicated lighting set-ups. I’ve seen photographers use as many as 5 lights and even more fill cards and flags to light something as simple as a shoe. Nick Fancher prides himself on his simple set-ups. I admire him greatly for this. He has a talent for creating interesting images with

Mark Weaver

With New Years resolutions rolling off everyone’s tongues like fibbery from an 11 year old arsonist claiming he didn’t know how mother’s prized magnolias were reduced to ash, I feel it appropriate to feature an artist that sets the bar so high some would claim he was telling whoppers himself.
