Sometimes, in the low points of my existence, I wonder, “What am I doing with my life? I should be doing _____.” Well Lizzy House is the girl that is doing that blank every time. I bemoan my idleness and think that I should be working more; She constantly works. I should improve my online presence; google her, bitch. I should make a pattern; she has multiple fabric lines. I should travel; she’s probably skipping around England right now. On a good day I can accomplish what she does in an hour. She prints, she paints, she bakes, she sings, she makes all her own clothes, she probably even skates, who knows. I’ve learned one important thing about studying art, it doesn’t make itself. Someone has to do it. I laugh at people that say “My little sister could do that.” Well here’s some news, your sister didn’t and she won’t and neither did you and you sound stupid for saying that. But someone else did and that’s what I celebrate about art, creation. Lizzy House is an amazing creative force. Kneel at her feet and hope that some of that could rub off on you.
